Congratulations to the Rangers on a great year, in which they out-scored their opponents 320-201, compiled an 8-3 record, won the co-championship of District 23-5A, and went to their first back-to-back playoffs since 1991-1992 !

All profits benefit the Ranger Football Program and our anticipated Playoff Run! Invite your friends and neighbors! Food, game, and merchandise booths will be located throughout the first floor of the school as well as possibly outside. There will be entertainment throughout the evening on the stage in the Commons. There will also be a Silent Auction.

If Hightower, Marshall, Dulles, and Clements continue their winning ways, this will set the stage for a potential 4-way tie for first place two weeks from now.

The Clements Rangers shut out Willowridge 26-0 in Friday night's homecoming game!
According to the Houston Chronicle's boxscore, Clements scored one touchdown in each quarter: Chris Lenoir on a 22-yard run, Cedric Wilson on a 12-yard pass from Derek Carr, Elliot Coffey on a 37-yard run, and Chris Lenoir again on a 1-yard run. Taylor Vernotzy kicked a point-after-touchdown after the first and third touchdowns.

Clements beats Marshall 23-22!
Chris Lenoir rushed for 272 yards on 35 carries, scoring twice in the second quarter, on runs of 18 and 37 yards. Derek Carr completed 8 of 17 passes for 110 yards, with 1 interception and one 22-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Thorwaldson with 8:52 left in the fourth quarter. Taylor Vernotzy kicked two points-after-touchdown and one 39-yard field goal with 2:02 left in the fourth quarter. With Clements leading 23-22 and Marshall in possession of the ball, Bronson Fleig intercepted a Marshall pass late in the fourth quarter, sealing Marshall's fate.

10/8/2006: The date for the JV/Varsity Post-Season banquet has been set for Thursday, December 14th, at Safari Texas. Mark your calendars and more details will follow next month.
Saturday, October 7: Clements lost to Dulles 39-42. After falling behind 0-14, Clements tied it at 14-14 by halftime. Dulles got an early lead in the second half and kept it the rest of the way. It was a hard-fought game that could have gone either way, right up to the last 60 seconds.

Clements gets the big win over Kempner 13 - 7!
Clements took an early lead with a CHRIS LENOIR run up the middle in the first quarter. Kempner tied the game, and it was 7 - 7 at the half. The Clements defense then dominated the second half, and a short pass from DEREK CARR to MATT HEITZER was all that was needed for the Clements win. It was a sweet victory---the first one over Kempner in eight years! Go Rangers!!

The segment, highlighting the Rangers' game against Hightower, is shown towards the end of the hour-long program.

News flash (9/6/06): Change of venue and time for the JV team: Today's combined Blue-White JV game versus Dobie will be held at 6:30pm at Pasadena Memorial Stadium, 2902 Dabney, Pasadena, Texas 77502. (The stadium's football field is known as Bill Newcomb Field). (The game was originally scheduled at Dobie Stadium).
Today (9/6/06): Freshman teams play Dobie: White team at 4:30pm and Blue team at 6:30pm, both at Kempner Stadium.
9/6/06: Coach Duhon says, regarding JV games: The only week we are planning on playing two JV games is next week (Sept. 14), if we have enough healthy kids next week. All other JV games will be changed to one game.
The Clements Rangers defeated the Seven Lakes Spartans 34 - 0 in both teams' season opener on Friday, September 1. Sophomore Quarterback Derek Carr, in his first Varsity start, completed 12 of 22 passes for 223 yards and three touchdown passes to Seniors Elliot Coffey (2) and Cedric Wilson. Junior Chris Lenoir ran for 115 yards on 20 carries, scoring one touchdown. Coffey finished the game with 90 yards receiving on three catches. Sophomore Omar Amin scored the Rangers' last touchdown on a 31 yard run in the fourth quarter. Next opponent: Pasadena Dobie Longhorns, Thursday, September 7 at 7 pm, Hall Stadium.
On Thursday, August 31, the JV team won 20-0, the Freshman Blue team won 16-14, and the Freshman White team lost 6-0.

Monday, August 21: First day of school. All students report to advisory class on Monday at 7:30am. No morning workouts on Monday. All football players will attend their designated football class period and then report to the Field House immediately after school for afternoon practices. Starting Tuesday, the Freshman teams have morning practice from 7:15am-8:00am, and afternoon practice from 3:00pm-5:00pm. The JV and Varsity have no morning practices, and their afternoon practices may run longer.
