Friday, Sept. 10: The Clements Rangers 14, Aldine Mustangs 20

Rangers came up short against Houston Aldine 14-20.  Rangers scored first on Jarrod Johnson’s 2-yard run early in the first quarter. Aldine scored touchdowns in the 1st and 2nd quarter taking a lead at halftime 14-7. The Rangers defense had a great goal line stop as time ran out in the first half.  The Rangers tied the game in the 3rd quarter on quarterback Michael Seitz’s 1-yard run making the score 14-14.  Aldine scored in the 4th quarter taking the lead 20-14. Extra point attempt failed as Dominique Williams blocked his 2nd extra point of the season. Jarrod Johnson led the Rangers with 80 rushing yards on 15 carries.

Rangers 1st District Game is this Friday (9-17) at 7:00 vs Marshall at Mercer Stadium.  We are the home team, so wear your navy blue shirt.  Plan on being at the field house Friday for the Rangers send-off!  The boys really appreciate the support as they get on the bus to go to the stadium!

 Go Rangers, Beat Marshall!

Thursday, Sept 9: The Freshman Blue team: Clements Rangers Defeat Aldine 20 - 6

Freshman White

Thursday, Sept 9: Freshman White victorious 20-14!

The Clements Freshmen White football team had a slow first half against Aldine at Bill Smith Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 9.  But they came alive in the second half, starting with a 50+ yard run by Trey Roche that resulted in a touchdown 2 plays later.  The attempt to run in the extra point failed, leaving the score at 6-14.  With less than 2 minutes left in the game, David Mercer intercepted a pass and ran it in for a touchdown.  The pitch to Trey Roche for the 2 point conversion was successful and the Rangers were suddenly back in the game with a tied score of 14-14.  Aldine attempted a pass after the kickoff, which was snatched by Michael Wang and returned for the winning touchdown.  The extra point attempt failed, but the Rangers were on top 20-14.  Again Aldine attempted a pass after the kickoff, and this time Jackson Beasley was there to pick it off and end the game.  Final Score Clements 20, Aldine 14.
